Safety and Health Services

AGC members consider safety and health on job sites as a top priority in the workplace. AGC’s Safety and Health Services provides a wealth of information and services on construction safety and health through our numerous safety resources. Click HERE to view safety training offered at AGC of East Tennessee. AGC of East Tennessee also has a library of safety training on CDs and VHS members may use for tool box talks and other employee safety meetings.

Safety Training Programs

AGC offers a range of safety training programs. AGC is committed to developing, maintaining and providing program curriculum, supplying materials, handling registration and payment services, developing marketing materials and marketing the training program, and providing qualified instructors.

Safety Management Training Course (SMTC)

The AGC of America Safety Management Training Course (SMTC) is a three-day intensive training course that provides instruction on the basic skills needed to manage a safety program within a company. Participants will receive instruction and training that will allow them to return to their firms with readily applicable new skills. Participants must attend all sessions and pass a written exam to receive a certificate from AGC of America indicating successful completion of the course.

Advanced Safety Management Training Course (ASMTC)

The AGC of America Advanced Safety Management Training Course (ASMTC) is a unique three-day course that provides a high level training experience for safety professionals and company managers who have a solid background in construction safety and health. This course enhances a participant’s ability to manage all aspects of safety and health for their companies on field safety, risk management, legal and liability issues. The ASMTC is intended to be interactive, with in-depth discussions between participants and instructors.

Safety Awards Programs

AGC of America recognizes contractor members for excellence in safety through two Awards Programs: the Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) and the National AGC Safety Awards (NASA).

Construction Safety and Excellence Awards

The AGC of America Construction Safety and Excellence Awards (CSEA) is an ongoing and evolving effort by AGC to recognize companies who have developed and implemented excellent safety and loss prevention programs achieved through management commitment, employee involvement, and program innovation. All AGC Chapters are encouraged to submit nominations for each division and occupational category.

National AGC Safety Awards

The National AGC of America Safety Awards (NASA) program is an excellent opportunity for AGC members to evaluate their safety record against other members of similar size and construction type across the country. NASA provides a great opportunity for contractor members to compete for nationally recognized awards that have excellent safety records.

Construction Industry Safety Excellence Awards

The Construction Industry Safety Excellence (CISE) Awards program recognizes commendable safety management and safety improvements of owner member companies of the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT).
