The Associated General Contractors of East Tennessee (AGCETN) is a trade association that connects, educates and elevates the construction industry through advocacy, events, training, networking and business support. Based in Chattanooga, AGCETN is supported by 230 member companies across 22 counties that employ more than 6,000 employees in construction, and is a part of a national network of 26,000 construction companies.
The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the management and production of communications vehicles and collateral to promote the construction industry, as well as the programs and initiatives of AGCETN. With guidance from the CEO, the selected candidate will work with community organizations, colleges, and educational institutions, and member construction companies to develop stories and media outreach that bolster the workforce, industry, members, and the organization.
The desired candidate will be a responsible professional and self-starter with top-notch creative skills, along with an outgoing, friendly personality and a willingness to work with a diverse group of personalities.

Reports To: President/CEO of AGC East Tennessee
Specific Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update several websites and social media platforms
- Recommend and implement digital marketing strategies
- Develop member feature stories and spotlights and share pertinent industry information with members
- Create content for press releases, newsletters, and posts
- Develop and edit videos for social media and website placement
- Assist in coordination of events including registration, scheduling, display/training materials, and promotion
- Develop and manage editorial plans, programs and calendars for internal and external communications initiatives
- Develop stories with CEO for local media and other stakeholders
- Design and produce weekly newsletter, annual report, presentations, brochures and other marketing collateral
- Work alongside the CEO to ensure all communications efforts are consistent with brand and are aligned with the association’s goals and objectives
- Perform special projects as assigned by the President
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and MS Office
- Proven video production and editing required
- Ability to learn membership software
- Experience in working with a variety social media platform
- An energetic, personable strategic thinker and multi-tasker
- Proven ability to develop and execute communications campaigns
- 2+ years website creation or maintenance
- 1+ years experience social media marketing and content creation
- 2+ years experience layout and graphic design
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing or communications
