Starting on June 26, AGC’s Building Leaders of Chattanooga (BLOC), our under 40’s professional group, hosted its first Construction Camp for rising 8th grade students, and it was a whopping success!
Fifteen students from 10 different schools spent the week learning how to frame walls, build brick walls, plumb sinks and faucets, and build projects like a planter box, phone holder, and a toolbox. Campers also got to maneuver mini-excavators, man simulators, and remotely drive equipment.
Our amazing volunteers kept it fun with games and activities throughout the week and the campers had a ball, asking if we could keep the camp going all summer!
Through the collaborative efforts of AGC members and community supporters, campers attended for free with breakfast, snacks, lunch, equipment and materials covered through your generous donations.
